Time for a New Job? How Coaching Transforms the Job Search Experience

Job searching can feel like a lonely road—no maps, poor cell service, and, in the worst moments, the check engine light comes on. The process can be overwhelming, full of uncertainty, and, at times, downright discouraging.

If you’ve ever found yourself staring at your resume, wondering how to make it stand out, or overthinking every word in a cover letter, you’re not alone. If you’ve walked out of an interview replaying every answer in your head or second-guessing whether an offer is really the right fit, we’ve been there too.

A recent survey found that nearly half of job seekers (46.8%) say the job search negatively affects their mental health and well-being. (Source) The stress of searching alone—without support or guidance—can make the process even more daunting. Having a trusted partner to help navigate the ups and downs can make all the difference.

At Harborbridge, we’ve worked with professionals across industries and experience levels, and one thing remains true: having a structured, supportive approach makes the journey smoother and more successful.

That’s why we developed a systematic process designed to provide clarity, confidence, and strategy. We help job seekers refine their career direction, optimize their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, prepare for interviews, and navigate job selection and salary negotiations. But most importantly, we make sure they don’t have to do it alone.

One of our wonderful clients, Talia Mangano, recently landed her dream job as Chief of Staff at Lusso, a premier Las Vegas real estate brokerage company. We sat down with her to talk about how working with Harborbridge transformed her job search, gave her confidence, and even made the process enjoyable.

Q: Can you share a bit about your job search experience while working with Harborbridge?

Talia: It was awesome. I honestly didn’t see myself seeking something like this out at first, but I’m so glad I did. I just jumped in, and from the moment I met my coach, her personality drew me in. She helped me build incredible confidence and turned what is usually a mentally exhausting process into something fun and exciting.

Q: Can you walk us through what the process looked like for you and the kind of support you were given?

Talia: Yeah! We started with some work upfront to figure out what I was interested in. Then we talked about my strengths and the common threads in my career. We revamped my resume and improved my LinkedIn profile, which made a huge difference. From there, we started looking at opportunities—I ended up getting callbacks for every role I was interested in.

Before an interview, we’d meet to go over what they might ask, how my skills lined up, and any questions I should ask them. She really prepped me so I knew what to expect. After the interviews, we’d do a follow-up to talk through the pros and cons. Not just about the job itself, but the company culture, too. It made such a difference because I felt totally prepared every step of the way.

Q: What was the most significant change you experienced as a result of this process?

Talia: Definitely a confidence boost. I felt like I was going into interviews not just trying to sell myself or desperately land a job, but actually bringing value. Instead of feeling like I had to prove myself, I was able to have real, personable conversations with people. That was a huge shift for me. I used to absolutely hate interviewing and it was really stressful. Anna helped me flip the script and have a more positive attitude throughout the whole process. That’s been a game-changer.
